And then there were five…

In the last few weeks we managed to share our exciting news with most family and dear friends face to face, so I figured I might as well make it public. It’s not like I can hide it any longer. πŸ˜‰ Once the photos from my sister’s wedding start trickling into the social media, anyone with a good eye will be able to tell that they could barely zip me into my dress, ha ha.

This Christmas will be extra special for our family as we are expecting our third baby! We are all super excited and it is very sweet to see how the kids are taking it in each in their own way. Samuel is now much older than when I was expecting Lara – back then he was a bit confused about the whole growing bump thing and all the talk about a baby but now he keeps telling people that mummy has a baby in her tummy. When he comes to give me a hug, he will say: “Don’t worry mummy, I’m not going to hurt the baby,” and he gives me a very gentle cuddle. Last night he woke up for some reason and when I came into his room, he asked: “When the baby comes out, can I play with him?” And then he also mumbled something about Angry birds before he rolled over and fell asleep… hmmmm… πŸ™‚

I can’t wait to see how this baby fits into our family. We don’t know yet what we’re having but will hopefully found out soon (I’m not the patient, wait till the birth type). Not that it matters, I just like knowing. 2014 is looking like a very busy year for us but hey, it’s not like we’ve been parking off for the last 4 years. The house is already a mess, I’m already washing a load of clothes per day, we already have everything you could possibly need for a baby… so what’s another one, right?

A few people have commented already that while they really enjoyed our holiday photos, they missed seeing me in them. That is so true. I love my spot behind the camera but I’ve been telling myself that I have to get better at getting in front of it as well. This weekend I got a new little toy – a remote control. So today seemed like a perfect day to try it out and we had so much fun with the kids pressing the remote. πŸ™‚ It was our first try, so I’m sure we’ll get even better with it.

To finish off, here are two more pictures of me and my growing bump, taken by Iva Novak (http://ivanovak.com) at a recent wedding that we both attended (her as the wedding photographer and me as a guest). This was a few weeks back and my bump has definitely grown since. πŸ™‚
